Starred Accounts are here!

YNAB has been cranking out the updates lately, some larger than others. I’m really excited about one subtle change that just appeared in my desktop app. I wanted to make sure you noticed it.

You can now star your favorite accounts so that they’re grouped together at the top of the left sidebar on your desktop app.

Just click the star next to the account name in the Account register to see it happen.

Note that you can see the net total of the starred accounts.

When YNAB separated Cash from Credit accounts on the left sidebar, it was an inconvenience for users who had a lot of accounts. This solves that problem. Now you can easily access the accounts you want to keep close track of and change the order accounts within the Starred area of the sidebar. You’re back in control!

Starred Accounts haven’t yet shown up on my iOS app, but I know they’re coming. (And I’m sure they’re on the way for Android as well.) In iOS, once they’re there, I’ll find them when I tap the ellipsis on the upper right corner of the account screen. Star Account will be listed, right under Edit Account.

I don’t know whether all desktop users can accessed Starred Accounts yet, but if it’s not there yet, it’s coming!
