Sometimes in social media groups I hear people grumble that YNAB is too expensive. To some, it feels counterintuitive to spend $109 a year (in the U.S., when paid annually) for an app that is supposed to help you spend less.
A couple of years ago, I blogged about why YNAB is worth it for me. Today, I thought I’d run an updated version of that post.
Let me show you, rather than tell you, how YNAB has helped my business. This month marks seven years since I started using YNAB for my business, Peace of Mind Organizing. Here’s a graph (found in the Reflections tab in YNAB) of my business’s Net Worth over the last seven years:

My business is pretty simple. The red bars represent credit card debt. The blurple bars represent cash on hand. It took a year to get out of credit card debt (with YNAB’s help). In seven years, my business went from a negative net worth to having plenty of money in the bank. And every single dollar in the bank has a job. It’s all thanks to YNAB.
Is YNAB worth $109 a year? For me, the answer is absolutely yes.
