As a professional organizer, I’ve been blogging for years about giving clutter-free gifts. People have a hard time letting go of gifts, even those they don’t love or use. And then they end up with too much stuff. So I always suggest giving experiences or donations or other non-tangible gifts instead.
Here’s a great clutter-free gift: A YNAB gift subscription! But be sure the potential recipient is open to the idea. (It’s a little like giving the gift of an organizing session…the person has to want it to be able to benefit from it.)
YNAB offers two gift subscriptions. One is a three-month subscription for $34.99. And the other is a one-year subscription $109. Here’s a bonus: Between now and the end of the year, YNAB is offering you a three-month extension to your subscription when you give a gift subscription of at least three months.
Follow these steps to give your gift and get the extension:
- Login to YNAB on the desktop app
- Click on your budget name in the upper left corner
- Select Account Settings
- Scroll down to Gift YNAB
- Click on Gift YNAB and selection the duration of the gift (3 months or 1 year)
- Fill in the form
I just gave a three-month subscription to a friend and was glad I googled how to do it so that I got credit!
